Usher: I`m inspired by my kids
Usher sayshis children give him the motivation to keep making music.
The star has two young sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely, with his ex-wife Tameka Foster. Becoming a father gave Usher fresh inspiration for his material and he has addressed a range of intimate issues including family, infidelity and divorce on his latest album Raymond v Raymond.
Although Usher still feels happy in a recording studio, he enjoys nothing more than being with his kids, who offer him unconditional love.
"No matter how hard life is, when you get home and you are greeted with open arms and admiration - no matter if you have won or lost, they just love you," he said in an interview with ET Online. "That is what keeps me moving, that is what motivates me. It gives me a reason to continue and to want to build this legacy, not only as an artist. Hopefully it will be something that is left to them and they can give it to their children."
Usher signed 16-year-old Canadian singer Justin Bieber to his record label after he saw him perform on YouTube. Having also enjoyed success at an early age, Usher is keen to mentor Justin and ensure he doesn`t succumb to the trappings of fame.
The31-year-old star is confident Justin will enjoy a successful career as long as he doesn`t take his fame for granted and remains grounded.
"The moment that I met Justin I saw that and then some," Usher revealed."You know, the `then some` is what I`m continuing to nurture. There is alot of space for growth. The one thing that I continue to encourage him on is don`t believe it too much, because as there is success there are low [points]. As you meet those have the same humility as you have during great moments. Enjoy it - but understand that life is a journey, and the story that is told is the one that you live through."
